Exe Swf Utils - The Crystal Website
In early versions of FutureSplash Animator and Macromedia Flash Player, it was possible to create a standalone executable with a swf file embedded within it; this option was just in the "file" menu of the Flash Projector (basically the standalone version) this feature was used to basically write PC software using Flash, a notable examples of this feature in use would be the Windows XP Tour; However shortly after Adobe took over Flash development, and it became "Adobe Flash Player", This feature has been 'greyed out' on the projector executables; seemingly as a way to push Adobe AIR; a way to compile AS3 flash games to x86 Machine Code instead of using an interpreter. however this leaves alot to be desired in the way of AS2, or if you do not have access to source code nor want to rework things to use Adobe AIR. Thankfully, adobe never actually removed this feature, and if you format a "Flash Projector" executable the right way, it will still work, which is generally what "Exe Swf Utils" is for; another feature is the ability to retrieve the SWF from a packaged projector. |
